On August 18, 2019, the 2019 Royal Society of Chemistry Deputy CEO Exchange Symposium was held in the Chemistry Hall 216, Tsinghua University. The seminar was hosted by Prof. Lei Liu from the Department of Chemistry. Ms. Helen Pain, CEO of the Royal Society of Chemistry, presented a lecture entitled “How the Royal Society of Chemistry is catalysing the past, present and future of the chemical sciences." In the lecture Ms. Pain described the history and mission of the Royal Society of Chemistry, and discussed how to promote the exchange and cooperation between China and the world in a global perspective. Ms. Pain also discussed the challenges and opportunities that chemistry discipline may face in the future with the rapid development of science and technology.
