Prof. Dr. Huaping Xu, born in 1978, received his Bachelor degree in 2001 and Ph. D. degree in 2006 in Jilin University, China, under the supervision of Prof. Xi Zhang. During 2004-2005, he worked as an exchange student in University of Leuven, Belgium. In 2006, he joined Prof. David N. Reinhoudt and Prof. Jurriaan Huskens’s group at University of Twente, the Netherlands as a post-doc. Since July 2008, he has worked at Department of Chemistry, Tsinghua University, China. He was promoted to associate professor in 2009 and full professor in 2014. In 2011, he received Young Chemists Award of Chinese Chemical Society. In 2014, he received National Natural Science fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. In 2015, he was enrolled in Outstanding Young Talents of National High-level personnel of special support program (“people plan”). In 2016, he was enrolled in Innovative Talents Cultivate Program (Youth Science and Technology Innovation Leader) from Ministry of Science and Technology. Since 2017, he started serving as associate editor for ACS Biomaterials Science & Engineering. His current research is focused on selenium-containing polymers.
