Didier ROUX, the Vice-President major in Research and Innovation of Saint-Gobain, together with Muthu Jeevanantham, general manager and Shasha Liu, innovation manager, of Saint-Gobain R&D (Shanghai) Co., Ltd, visited the Department of Chemistry, Tsinghua University at March 11th 2014. Prof. Xi Zhang, Dean of the Department, Prof. Yen Wei, Chair Professor of Chemistry, and Prof. Lei Liu, vice-Dean in Research of the Department met the guests. Prof. Lei Liu gave an introduction about the faculty, research and education of the Department of Chemistry, Tsinghua University. Didier Roux introduced Saint-Gobain and expressed their intention to develop the collaboration with Tsinghua in the future. A detailed discussion about the future collaboration and its executive method was then held between two sides.

Saint-Gobain's sales in 2012 in China totalize about 1.05 billion Euros. It employs about 10,000 people throughout China today. Saint-Gobain R&D (Shanghai) Co., Ltd was started in 2005, which is the one of the seven major enterprise-wide research centers of the Group. It currently employs 250 engineers, and will offer career chance for 400 engineers till 2015.
