Inorganic Chemistry

The Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, officially founded in 1999, aims at facilitating teaching and scientific research in inorganic chemistry, nanochemistry, crystallographic chemistry, and material chemistry. The Institute is composed of 8 full professors, 6 associate professors, and 12 post-doctoral fellows. Among them there are one Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Technology and two ChangJiang Professors. Many of our faculty members have received prestigious awards and recognition for their outstanding teaching and research achievements, including 3 Distinguished Young Scholars from NSFC, 3 winners of the New Century Talent Fund from MOE, 4 awards for the National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation of China. In 2009, the research team gained the financial support from the project of the Foundation for Innovative Research Groups of NSFC.

Research Projects & Achievements
In the last 5 years, our scientific researches were mainly supported by 39 research projects with a total funding of more than 50 million RMB, including 973 and 863 projects from MOST, key projects from NSFC, the National Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the MOE new Century Talent Fund, the State Five-Year Major Fundamental Research Plans, which help to set up well-defined research facilities for inorganic chemistry and related areas. Up to date, we have published more than 300 peerreviewed papers in Nature, J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater., Chem Eur. J., Chem. Mater., Chem. Commun., J. Solid State Chem., J. Crystal Growth, and Inorg. Chem., among others.

Teaching Activities
The Institute of Inorganic Chemistry offers courses of Inorganic Chemistry, Principle of Chemistry, General Chemistry, Coordination Chemistry, Solid State Chemistry, Inorganic Synthetic Chemistry, Crystalline Chemistry, Chemistry of Materials, Advanced Inorganic Chemistry, and Crystal Growth for undergraduate and graduate students.

Academic Exchanges
The Institute has active academic exchange with domestic and international scholars in the field of inorganic chemistry and related areas, and our members are actively involved in various academic activities.
