The 2019 International Mechanism and Synthesis Symposium, hosted by the Center of Basic Molecular Science, Department of Chemistry, Tsinghua University, and co-organized by the State Key Laboratory of Elemental-organic Chemistry, Nankai University was held in the reception hall of Tsinghua University Main Building from October 21 to 23.
The conference was co-chaired by Academician Jin-Pei Cheng, founder of the Center of Basic Molecular Science, and Academician from German Academy of Sciences, Professor Herbert Mayr of the University of Munich. Professor Mayr made the opening speech. Professor Liang Qionglin, Secretary of the Party Committee from Department of Chemistry, gave a welcome speech and briefly introduced the development of the Department of Chemistry of Tsinghua University.
The conference included 17 plenary lectures. The lectures covered bond energy chemistry, energy chemistry, asymmetric hydrogenation, homogeneous catalysis, and photocatalysis, etc. In addition to the plenary lectures, more than 40 young talented chemists all over the country were invited to present posters on their latest research results.
