Ÿ Research interest

Dr. Haohong Duan is a tenured associate professor at Tsinghua University. He has led an independent research group at Tsinghua since 2019. His research focuses on developing electrocatalytic systems for converting industrial feedstocks, biomass, and waste plastics into value-added chemicals, with an emphasis on reaction pathway design, catalyst synthesis, and electrolyzer construction. He has published over 100 papers as corresponding author in top-tier journals including Nat. Catal., Nat. Synth., Nat. Commun., J. Am. Chem. Soc., and Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. He is also an editor and co-author of the book Photocatalysis Using 2D Nanomaterials (2022, Royal Society of Chemistry). He has received the Distinguished Young Scholar Award of China, the Distinguished Young Scholar Award of Beijing, and the Green Tech Award, among other honors. He currently serves as the principal scientist for the National Key R&D Program of China. He is a member of the Advisory Board of Chemical Science , a specially invited editor of Science Bulletin , and a Youth Editor for Science China Chemistry, Precision Chemistry, and other high-quality journals.
