Organic Chemistry

The Institute of Organic Chemistry is composed of 5 divisions, including the Key Laboratory of Bioorganic Phosphorus Chemistry & Chemical Biology (Ministry of Education), Chemical Biology Laboratory, Organic Synthetic Chemistry Laboratory, Applied Chemistry Laboratory, and Medicinal Chemistry Laboratory. There are 9 professors, including one Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and 3 Distinguished Young Scholars from NSFC, and 6 associate professors in the Institute. In the last 5 years, our scientific researches were mainly supported by 973 and 863 projects from MOST, projects from NSFC, the National Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, which help to set up of well-defined research facilities for organic chemistry and related areas. Up to now, we have published more than 300 peer-reviewed papers in J. Am. Chem. Soc, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Org. Lett., J. Org. Chem., Organometallics, Chem. Commun., Chem. Eur. J. Green Chem. among others.

Main Research Fields
■ Chemical Biology
■ Organometallic Chemistry

The Institute of Organic Chemistry offers Organic Chemistry, Physical Organic Chemistry, Organic Synthesis, Natural Product Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Bioorganic Phosphorus Chemistry, Liquid Chemistry and Elementary Organic Chemistry courses for undergraduate and graduate students. Furthermore, the Institute also provides experimental courses for the entire university. The Institute has about 10 post-doctoral fellows and more than 20 doctoral or master students each year. Some research collaborations with Professors in North America, Europe and Japan are becoming important channels for exchange ideas and graduate students.
