Polymer Chemistry & Physics

The Institute of Polymer Chemistry and Physics, officially founded in 2008, aims at facilitating teaching and research of polymer selfassembly, polymer functional materials and polymer synthesis. There are 5 full professors, including one Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 2 ChangJiang professors, 4 associate professors, one lecturer, and one technician in the Institute. Three of them were Distinguished Young Scholars from NSFC. The institute is seeking outstanding applicants for faculty positions in Polymer Physics and Biomacromolecules.

Research Projects & Achievements
The Institute of Polymer Chemistry and Physics is a new research unit in the Department of Chemistry, with particular focus on the basic research of polymer science. In past 5 years, our scientific researches were mainly supported by 20 research projects with a total funding of more than 15 million RMB, including 973 and 863 projects from MOST, projects from NSFC, the NSFC fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and international cooperation projects. These projects help us to set up the well-defined research facilities for Polymer Chemistry and Physics and related areas. We have published more than 200 peer-reviewed papers in domestic and international journals, including J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem., Int. Ed., Adv. Mater., Chem. Eur. J., Chem. Commun., Macromolecules, Langmuir et al.

Teaching Activities
The Institute offers courses of Polymer Chemistry, Supramolecular Chemistry, Functional Polymer Chemistry, and Synthetic Polymer Chemistry for undergraduate and graduate students. Each year about 10 doctoral and master students graduate from the Institute.

Academic Exchanges
The Institute of Polymer Chemistry and Physics has active academic cooperation and scientific exchange with domestic andinternational scholars. These scientific activities help to broaden the knowledge of our students.
