Biography:

Dr. Yu Xiang got his B.S. in Chemistry (2004) from Tsinghua University, China, and Ph.D. in Chemistry (2009) under Prof. Aijun Tong in Tsinghua University. After the postdoctoral research (2009-2012) with Prof. Yi Lu at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Dr. Xiang has worked as an associate professor in Department of Chemistry at Tsinghua University since 2012. He is currently working on the sulfur chemistry for modified nucleic acids as tools in chemical biology, including (1) Sulfur chemistry for post-synthetic nucleic acid modification; (2) Chemically modified oligonucleotides for controlled gene editing; (3) in vitro selection of covalent oligonucleotide inhibitors of protein-protein interactions. He serves on the editorial board of the journal Biosensors.
